Hotels[edit source]

Do we have a block of rooms reserved at a specific hotel? And what is the location most people are staying? Doc James (talk) 03:01, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As stated in the guide, I would advise to look out for accommodation around Kungsholmen. I'll update with more information ASAP. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 12:28, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank User:Eric Luth (WMSE). Just wondering were the majority of people are staying. Doc James (talk) 13:37, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Doc James: Now you find that information at 2019:Accommodation. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 08:51, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Translation[edit source]

How i can translate it in Russian? Fenikals (talk) 10:05, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't put translation tags in it yet, because it will have to be updated. Do you want to translate it already though it may change quite a lot? Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 12:24, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I want it. --Fenikals (talk) 10:13, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikivoyage[edit source]

I put in a hat note about the Wikivoyage guide to Stockholm. It is not very visible, and one might want to note the scope difference between the two somewhere. I also hinted at Wikivoyage that some additions might be due with the Wikimedia audience in mind. --LPfi (talk) 18:57, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. SelfieCity (talk) 22:47, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why in the world is this not on Wikivoyage?[edit source]

I am a Wikivoyage administrator and bureaucrat, and not I nor anyone else on our site was even aware of this article until two months after its creation, when one of our editors randomly ran across it and posted a notice in our Travellers' pub. Since travel guides are our wheelhouse, common courtesy and the collegial spirit of the wiki movement would dictate that the author of this article should have allowed Wikivoyage to host this article, or should have brought someone from Wikivoyage on board to help create it, or at the very least should have notified Wikivoyage of its existence. Not only is the fact that none of those things happened a slap in the face to our community, but the blatant unattributed copying of much of Wikivoyage's Stockholm article, including large sections of the lede and the pagebanner, is a violation of copyright. Please rectify this. -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 20:57, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My sincere apologies for not bringing the Wikivoyage team on board and duly attributing the page lede. The purpose of this text is not to give a full tourist guide to Stockholm, but to give attendees the information they may need up until and during the conference. Feel free to shorten it down and take away any general information if you'd like, and link to Wikivoyage for this. Or anyway you would prefer. I think there is a purpose of informing attendees on the Wikimania wiki about venue, transportation and central addresses. etc. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 23:15, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why was the section on electricity access removed?[edit source]

@Eric Luth (WMSE): Right now, the section "Electricity access" in the travel guide is empty. There used to be text there, but you removed it in this edit (despite keeping the section header) with no explanation why. Why was it removed? DraconicDark (talk) 15:54, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good question. Probably a mistake. Will look into it. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 08:27, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Eric Luth (WMSE): I added the content back to the "Electricity access" section, but I can't translate it for some reason. DraconicDark (talk) 11:49, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Now this part is translateable. --Brackenheim (talk) 11:59, 8 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Quick question (Johanna, the Communication Expert Coordinator, is wondering): what's with the <!--T:26-->, etc. notations on this page?
Peter Isotalo (talk) 20:14, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Peter Isotalo: they are the phrase parts of the translation system, and each will align language by language. See the translation links in the sidebar, or the links at the top of each translated page  — billinghurst sDrewth 09:58, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst:, much oblige! In other words, leave them be. :-)
Peter Isotalo (talk) 16:18, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I've never used these notions before so I don't know how to use them. Let's say I need to add a new title between T6 and T7 and that there last T-notion is T33. So what's the number for the new title? T7, T6.5 or T34? --Jjanhone (talk) 06:25, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Actually you don't need to care about anything related to the translation markups, you can just write normally, and the translation admins or other who have knowledge will add the markups. But if you want to learn, there is instructions on mw:Help:Extension:Translate/Page translation example. Only translation administrators can mark page for translation, and the tool will automatically add markers like <!--T:1-->. Stryn (talk) 14:26, 12 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Recommended bike rental?[edit source]

Is there a recommended bike rental in the city? So far I've found

Also, if someone has an advice or a link on road bike rental, that would be very helpful. --Volker E. (WMF) (talk) 09:20, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
