Yêu cầu để nhập cảnh vào Ba Lan
Bất kỳ ai đến Ba Lan bằng hộ chiếu từ bên ngoài Khu vực Schengen nên chuẩn bị sẵn những thứ sau:
- Hộ chiếu hợp lệ. Hộ chiếu được cấp trong hoặc không được quá mười năm và phải có giá trị ít nhất ba tháng, được khuyến nghị là sáu tháng, không vượt quá ngày khởi hành khỏi Khu vực Schengen.
- Trang hộ chiếu trống. Hộ chiếu của bạn phải có ít nhất hai trang trống để đóng dấu nhập cảnh.
- Visa Schengen hợp lệ. Bạn phải mang theo thị thực Schengen khi đi qua Khu vực Schengen. Thông thường, thị thực của bạn được dán vào hộ chiếu của bạn, vì vậy hai thứ đó luôn song hành với nhau. (Bạn có thể tìm hiểu thêm thông tin về việc xin thị thực trên tại trang riêng này).
- Bằng chứng về mục đích nhập cảnh. Mặc dù không bắt buộc đối với tất cả những người không có thị thực nhưng những người tham dự nên mang theo tài liệu giải thích rằng họ sẽ tham dự Wikimania. Những người tham dự Wikimania có thể yêu cầu thư mời từ Wikimedia Foundation và Wikimedia Ba Lan bằng cách gửi email tới wikimania
wikimedia.org với tên chủ đề “Wikimania Invitation Letter Request”. - Chứng minh về việc đủ khả năng tài chính. Tài liệu chứng minh bạn có đủ khả năng tài chính để đến Khu vực Schengen. Đối với Ba Lan, số tiền này là số dư ngân hàng tối thiểu PLN 300[1] trong ba ngày cộng với PLN 75 cho mỗi một ngày bổ sung, có thể chứng minh bằng bản sao kê ngân hàng được in. Bạn cũng có thể cung cấp bằng chứng về việc làm hoặc tài trợ mà Wikimedia Foundation sẽ cung cấp cho những người nhận được học bổng.

Đến Katowice
Cách tốt nhất để đến Katowice là di chuyển bằng máy bay hoặc tàu hỏa.
Du lịch bằng máy bay
Có thể đến Katowice thông qua một sân bay quốc tế là Sân bay Katowice-Pyrzowice (KTW / EPKT). Đây là sân bay bận rộn thứ tư ở Ba Lan và nằm cách Katowice khoảng 30km. Tuyến đường từ sân bay đến thành phố có thể đi bằng xe buýt công cộng và taxi.
Bạn cũng có thể muốn đặt chuyến bay đến Warsaw hoặc Kraków (sân bay lớn nhất Ba Lan) và sau đó đến Katowice bằng tàu hỏa. Đi từ sân bay Warsaw sẽ mất 3-4 giờ và từ Kraków khoảng 90 phút. Cả hai chuyến đi đều yêu cầu một lần trung chuyển tại một trong các ga chính ở Warsaw hoặc Kraków.
Du lịch bằng tàu hỏa

Climate
Poland lies in a humid continental climate zone. The mean temperature in August during the day is 25°C (76°F) and at night 13°C (55°F), although it can occasionally get hotter, reaching up to 30°C (86°F). You should be prepared for some variability in weather, including the possibility of occasional rain. On average, there are 12 rainy days in August with about 75mm (3in) of precipitation in the whole month. People with sensitive skin should consider bringing a sunblock.
It's a good idea to pack lightweight clothing such as t-shirts, shorts, and summer dresses for the warm days, but also bring along a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings or if the weather turns unexpectedly chilly.
SIM cards
Poland is part of the European Union so that EU/EEA residents can use cellular services according to the Roam like at home principles with no or almost none additional costs (please consult your carrier for limitations regarding fair use policy etc.).
If you want to buy a SIM card after arriving, you can do so in a store in the arrivals terminal at the Katowice Airport. It is mandatory to present a passport or ID card in order to register the SIM card. You can do it in carriers' stands in e.g. shopping malls or in the stores that sell them.
You should be prepared to see offers like 5000 GB of internet on the SIM card covers, they usually refer to amount of data you'll get during a whole year. Please check whether you have to perform any action to get the indicated data packet when buying the SIM card. All main carriers offer a mobile app for Android and iOS you can use to manage the service.
If you want to buy the card later, they are available in convenience stores around the city. In case of any troubles, all four carriers have their stands in the shopping mall next to Katowice railway station.
Money
Cashless payments are very popular in Poland. You can pay by card at almost all places—be it small shops or supermarkets. If you want to exchange money after coming to Poland, there are money exchange points at the airports as well as in the city center.
The most common foreign currencies accepted are: Euro (EUR), British pound (GBP) and US dollar (USD). Usually you may also find others in the currency exchange offices, especially the European ones.
