Scholarship distribution by region[edit | edit source]

Below you can see the distribution of scholarships by region this was based on the number of completed application received and an allowance ESEAP as the host region with the lowest travel cost both in terms of dollars and carbon footprint. The was also a consideration to take advantage of the friendly visa system and select more from region where a normally the community struggles to get visa's for attendees. The numbers reflect the final list acceptances from those offered, where people declined offers the next in line from that region was offered a scholarship. Wikimedia Australia, Wikimedia Deutschland, and Wikimedia Malaysia collaborated with the Wikimania Scholarship team to help support the distribution of attendees. The final two columns will be filled in after Wikimania to capture outcomes.
