Aqui é descrito o processo para bolsas de estudo da Fundação Wikimedia (WMF). Alguns outros capítulos e organizações oferecem bolsas de estudo também:
A Wikimania 2023 voltará a repenssar a forma como muitas atividades serão disponibilizadas, o processo de bolsa faz parte dessa recriação. Para 2023, a equipa de Organização Central oferecerá diferentes tipos de bolsas de estudo;
- Viagem à Singapura: bolsas de estudo completas e parciais. Tal como aconteceu antes de 2020, haverá algumas limitações e condições;
- A bolsa de estudos completa proporcionará viagens, alojamento e cadastro.
- A bolsa parcial proporcionará alojamento e cadastro.
- Eventos satélites: as filiais ou grupos de projetos aplicam-se através do processo de subvenção do WMF para financiamento, o COT pode apoiar necessidades técnicas de ligações ao vivo à Wikimania.
Todos os bolsitas completos e parciais terão a opção de realizar tarefas de voluntariado durante a Wikimania, pois estes também serão cobertos pela apólice de seguro de viagem da WMF. Os voluntários podem incluir 2 horas em um Expo table, ajudante da sala (tomar notas, partilhar perguntas online para os oradores) ou carregar vídeos de sessão para Commons. O voluntariado por 2 ou mais horas também será considerado suficiente para não exigir um relatório escrito, e será sujeito a verificação pela equipa de bolsas durante a Wikimania.

Satellite Events
Satellite events can be scheduled and funded as part of the affiliate General Support Fund (GSF).
Wikimedia Affiliates may use funds already obtained through the Wikimedia Foundation General Support Fund to run a satellite event, even if a satellite event was not initially included in their GSF proposal. General Support Fund grantees have the ability to move funds around their budget as needed, and, per the General Support Fund agreement, the Foundation only requests that Program Officers be informed if that variance is more than 20% from the original proposal. We encourage all affiliates interested in hosting a satellite event to list their event details on the satellite event subpage, so that affiliates may coordinate between themselves, encouraging collaboration and connection amongst Wikimedians and to better promote their events.

- Affiliates wanting to livestream into Wikimania should get in touch with the programming subcommittee of the Core Organizing Team at wikimania
wikimedia.org as soon as they have the details of their event. - The Core Organizing Team will provide technical support for groups wanting to livestream into Wikimania.
